Eid... And Towards The New Year

We are on 27 Zulhijjah, Masha-Allah. I hope that this beautiful month gave us all abundance of blessings.

I also hope that many of us had the opportunity to fast and arrange for sacrifices this year for Eid.

Alhamdhulilah, all’s been well for us and work and family have been keeping me on my toes these months. I am not complaining, at all.

Amongst writing on this space, trying a new dish, planning a day out with friends, there are also these reads (below) that are shouting for my attention, or rather, it's been the other way round – I am the one battling  to make time for them all.

Our Islamic New Year is round the corner too, in fact, just three days away. A good time to start renewing our goals, intentions for the year ahead.

In-Shaa-Allah.

Eid Ul-Adha and Us

I  hope all my brothers and sisters celebrated this year's Eid Ul-Adha with lots of barakah and happiness.

May Allah (S.W.T) accept all our prayers, duas, fasts and sacrifices. Ameen.

Just a week or so before the first Dhul-Hijjah, I came down with a viral fever and took a week to recover, Alhamdhulilah.

The dry coughs stayed a little longer and therefore, I was not able to fast on the 10 days.

In-Shaa-Allah, I pray that HE gives me an opportunity to fast next year, and grant us all an opportunity to visit HIS sacred home.

The pilgrims performing their Hajj this year were tested in many ways, with some of them taking their final breaths in Allah (S.W.T)'s home.

Non-Muslims may not understand this, but for us, pre-destined with death during Hajj is one of our prayers.

May Allah (S.W.T) grant these fortunate souls with the highest place in Jannah. Ameen.

Selamat Hari Raya Haji!

"It is neither their meat nor their blood that reaches Allah, but it is piety from you that reaches Him."
[Al-Qur'an 22:37]

Wishing all Muslims a blessed Eid-Ul-Adha. We celebrated Eid here today, while my in-laws celebrated Eid yesterday. And AZ's relatives in India will be celebrating tomorrow, In-Shaa-Allah.

I hope that Allah (S.W.T) has accepted all our Korban (animal sacrifices), sadaqah (charity), fasts and voluntary prayers.

Alhamdhulilah, for us at home, it was a warm homely time of great food and great family time.

I wished I had done better with spending time with the Quran and Tahajjud prayers though. Time and again, I am reminded of the need to establish a secret relationship with Allah (S.W.T) through the Tahajjud prayers. But I am just not doing enough.

I have made the niyyah (intention) to spend more time on this special prayers on certain times of the week. AZ is also supporting me on this, encouraging me to stay focussed on what I want to achieve. I really hope to do better on these special prayers, In-Shaa-Allah.

And I can't complete an Eid-Ul-Adha post without sharing this. Sister Umm Salihah has done a beautiful post on what this Eid means for Muslims. Please read her informational post here.

And keep her in your duas if you found the read useful, In-Shaa-Allah.

Mum's murukku and my marble cake. Both came out to be yummy, Alhamdhulilah.
